Spring Gathering 2025

We’re thrilled to invite you to our first-ever SJA Fellowship Spring Gathering in New York City.
This three-day immersive experience is an opportunity to become more aware of the unique ways we each experience the world—and the agency we have to change it.
It’s also an opportunity to connect with our growing community of Fellowship alumni, nominators, mentors, SJA staff, and other friends of the Archive.

Wed, May 21
3pm | 130 Prince St. Kick things off with a workshop led by 2024 SJA Fellow Queenie Wu.
4:30pm | Gem Home Join chef and business owner Flynn McGarry at his cafe and homewares store, Gem Home, for a conversation about creative entrepreneurship and the ideas that inspire his work.
5:30pm | Gem Home Enjoy an intimate dinner at Gem Home with SJA Fellows and staff.
Thu, May 22
9:30am | 130 Prince St. Meet Chei-Wei and Taylor, the duo behind design studio CW&T. After sharing their creative philosophy, they’ll lead us on a sensory walking tour through SoHo.
11am | Hudson Yards Experience an iconic NYC landmark—The Highline— through the eyes of an architect and urban planner on a walking tour with Stefan Al.
12pm | Meatpacking District Grab lunch in the Meatpacking District. You can check out one of the recommended spots below, or choose your own adventure—just be sure to save your receipt so we can reimburse you (max. reimbursement for this meal: $50).

2:30pm | Whitney Museum Meet at the Whitney Museum to see All Day All Night, a multimedia exhibition from artist Christine Sun Kim.
5:30pm | 130 Prince St. Hear directly from Christine Sun Kim on the creative process that generated the body of work featured in All Day All Night. A Q&A will follow her presentation.
6:30pm | Manuela Join the extended SJA community for a dinner, followed by musical performances from two of our Fellows: Isaiah Collier and Jessica Shand.
Fri, May 23
10am | 130 Prince St. Learn what it takes to build an archive in a workshop led by SJA’s Collections team.
11:30am | 130 Prince St. Share what you’ve learned—and what you’re taking with you—in a brief closing circle before we say goodbye.
Hotel
SJA alumni and other guests, we recommend staying in the SoHo area. Most of our events are near the Spring St (C/E) and Prince St. (N/Q/R) stations.
Current fellows, we have reserved a room for you at 11 Howard (11 Howard St, New York, NY 10013). You may check into your room anytime after 4pm on Wednesday, May 21—the front desk will hold your bags until your room is ready, so feel free to drop them off before our first activity.
Check out is at 12pm on Friday, May 23. The front desk will hold your bags until you’re ready to leave the area at your request.
At check-in, 11 Howard requires a photo ID and a credit card to cover incidentals. You will not be charged for the room or associated taxes—however, you are responsible for covering your own incidentals, housekeeping gratuities, additional nights at the hotel, and any other discretionary costs. If you require special accommodations, please contact us at fellows@stevejobsarchive.com.
You have a $40 credit each day to order breakfast at the hotel restaurant. You can order in-room dining or just use your room number when paying in the restaurant. The credit is limited to $40 each day and is inclusive of tax and gratuity. Any excess charges will be billed as incidentals to your credit card. Lite snacks will also be provided at eadch of the events.
Flights
SJA alumni and other guests, our first activity is at 3pm on Wednesday, May 21, so please allow enough travel time from the airport to SoHo when planning your arrival. Programming will wrap up by 12pm on Friday, May 23, and you’re free to depart any time afterward.
Current fellows, please share your itinerary with Aleina (aleina@stevejobsarchive.com). We will reimburse refundable economy flights or train to/from JFK, EWR or LGA only. Please reference our email about travel booking for full details and reimbursement instructions. Reach out to Aleina with any additional questions.
For international flights and nonstop flights exceeding eight hours, please contact Aleina to book your flight.
Ground Transportation
SJA alumni and other guests, you are welcome to use our LYFT CODE: SPRINGSJA25 for transportation to and from the airport. You are responsible for all other transportation costs during your trip. Most of the programming will take place in SoHo and is accessible by foot or subway.
Current fellows, we suggest taking a Lyft from the airport to 11 Howard. Please download the Lyft app and use this LYFT CODE: SPRINGSJA25 for transportation to and from the airport.
